Patrick Elliott

Patrick Elliott

President, CEO and Co-Founder

 

Patrick joined VisualCortex in April 2021 to lead the creation, development and global expansion of the company. Patrick is a veteran of the enterprise technology industry, having led teams across Canada, USA, Europe and Asia Pacific. Over the last two decades, Patrick has been predominantly based in Sydney managing teams of salespeople and solution specialists in Australia and throughout Asia Pacific. He has worked for large software companies like SAP and Oracle as well as leading teams locally for US-based companies such as Microstrategy, Cognos, Anaplan and Australian analytics success story, Yellowfin.

Chairman and Co-Founder

A true technologist at heart, Tony is passionate about delivering exceptional data experiences. Before VisualCortex, Tony held a range of leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at EDS Consulting Services (2003 - 2005), Managing Director and Founder at Globalsoft (2005 - 2007), CTO at DWS (2007 - 2008), and Chief Data Officer for Wholesale Banking at National Australia Bank (2009 - 2010). In 2008, Tony founded Servian; Australia and New Zealand’s preeminent enterprise cloud and data consulting firm. When Servian was acquired by Cognizant in March 2021, he took the VisualCortex Video Intelligence Platform – which had been developed in-house at Servian in 2019 – and started a standalone venture. Tony saw the value of turning VisualCortex into a fully-fledged product offering, creating VisualCortex Pty Ltd as an independent software company in April 2021.

CTO and Co-Founder

Beginning his career as an IT Administrator in the education sector (2005 - 2011), Ben worked across a range of tier one enterprises at cloud and data consultancy, Servian (2013 - 2021). Specializing in application development, web analytics and Big Data, Ben served as Servian’s Head of Research and Development, which included extensive work on the initial version of the VisualCortex platform. When Servian was sold to Cognizant in 2021, VisualCortex was founded as a standalone company, where Ben was appointed CTO in April 2021. With a core group of talented developers working under his leadership, Ben has taken the initial VisualCortex codebase and significantly optimized and extended the platform, ensuring that it’s enterprise-ready, robust and scalable as we expand operations.

Chief Marketing Officer

Joining VisualCortex in November 2021 as its inaugural Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Lachlan was most recently CMO at Australian start-up Operoo (formerly known as CareMonkey), which was acquired by US-based EdTech company, SchoolStatus, in October 2021. Lachlan has held Head of Marketing roles at other Australian technology start-ups, including CAMMS, Linius, and was the founding member of the marketing team for global success story, Yellowfin – an Australian analytics start-up acquired by Idera Inc. in January 2022. Lachlan has a strong and consistent track record of working with Australian start-ups to help build their local presence and catapult them into the global marketplace.
MIke Seddon

Mike Seddon

Head of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

Passionate about all things machine learning, Mike has spent the last 18 years working across leading companies and consultancies architecting and implementing data-driven solutions. Mike spent six years at ANZ, where he developed end-to-end reporting systems for the operational banking team. From 2010 - 2012, Mike lived in Zambia where he worked for the Zambian National AIDS Council developing a data collection platform. Since then, Mike has held a number of senior roles in data, including Principal Architect at Infosys, Analytics Manager at KPMG, Senior Solutions Architect at Commonwealth Bank, Senior Data Engineer at AGL Energy, and Principal Architect at One Mount Group. Mike also Co-Founded an AgTech start-up, SenseAg, delivering a real-time decisioning platform to Australia’s agricultural community.
